Our History
The BBG was founded as a forum to enable British companies to promote and support their commercial interests and to stimulate wider recognition of the UK contribution to the development of Bangladesh.
Foundation
The British Business Group was established under the umbrella of the British High Commission (BHC), creating a forum for British companies operating in Bangladesh.
Independence
The BBG became a standalone entity, running its own affairs as an independent legally registered body while maintaining BHC support and patronage.
Trust Registration
The BBG was formally registered as a Trust in May 2017, establishing its own secretariat and governance structure.
Official Launch
The BBG was officially launched as a Trust at a ceremony on 8 April 2018 at the Residence of the British High Commissioner, Alison Blake, with the Board of Trustees.

Growing Strong
Today, the BBG continues to grow with around 40 member companies, representing key UK businesses in Bangladesh and maintaining strong ties with the British High Commission.
